The Stark County Schools' Council of Governments insurance program began in 1987 with the formation of the council.

Designed to provide cost savings to participating members, the program now includes 70 member school districts, educational service centers and related agencies and insures over 11,000 employees.

The Stark County Council is also a member of The Community Health Care Coalition and enjoys significant savings in the area of prescription drug costs as a member of this organization.
