The Stark County Schools' Council of Governments health insurance program began in 1984 with the formation of the council.

Designed to provide cost savings to participating members, the program now includes 185+ member school districts, educational service centers and related agencies and insures over 17,000 employees.

The Stark County Council is also a member of Employers Health Coalition Inc. and enjoys significant savings in the area of prescription drug costs as a member of this organization.
