Subrogation

Your health care coverage with the Stark County Schools Council of Governments (COG), is an employer group health care plan (the Plan) administered by Medical Mutual of Ohio (MMO) or AultCare.  The Plan has a right to recover medical payments made for your care from any third party or insurer.  The Plan maintains both a contractual right of reimbursement and a separate right of subrogation to any funds you recover.  The Plan’s subrogation and reimbursement rights shall be considered the first priority claim against any third party or your own automobile or liability carrier, to be paid before any other claims which may exist are paid, including claims by you for general damages or attorney fees or other costs.  Subrogation helps lower health care costs for everyone.
